About Us
From the beginning, water wells have been a family affair. Jarrell Dowell began working with his brother Donald in the mid 1970's drilling and servicing water wells. In October of 1980, Jarrell founded Dowell Water Well Service to focus on the service side of the business. A year later, he married his wife, Belle, who helped run the business behind the scenes. His two sons Jarrell Dale and John began working with him as teenagers, learning the trade from the ground up.
Today, Jarrell Dale has taken over the business from his father, continuing the family tradition of exceptional water well service that spans over four decades. John has moved to the Austin area where he operates his own successful water well business, extending the Dowell commitment to great customer service across Texas. Here are a few pictures looking back on our journy over the past 45 years.
Licensing
Dowell Water Well Service operates under the supervision of two master pump installers licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation:

The master pump installer licenses make us qualified to work on:
- windmills, hand pumps, and pump jacks;
- single phase pumps;
- three phase pumps; and
- line-shaft turbine pumps.
Jarrell Dowell, II is also licensed by the Texas Commission on Enviromental Quality as a Water Treatment Specialist II (License #WT0005027).
